2010 World Cup finalists Ivory Coast and Ghana have been placed in the same group for next year's African Cup of Nations in Angola.

The Elephants and the Black Stars will also face 2006 World Cup finalists Togo in Group B as well as tough West Africans Burkina Faso in Cabinda.

However, history favours Ghana as they've met seven times and the Ivorians have won just one of those encounters.

Six-time champions Egypt were also handed a tough draw as they will play West Africans giants Nigeria as well as Benin and Mozambique and they will be based in Benguela.

Hosts Angola will open the tournament with a clash with Mali in Group A that also includes 2010 World Cup finalists Algeria and Malawi in Luanda.

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon were given a difficult task in Group D where they take on continental heavyweights Tunisia, Zambia and darkhorses Gabon in Lubango.

The teams play each other once in a round-robin format, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the quarterfinals.
